Save Files Incompatible between platforms?
« on: April 04, 2008, 07:05:26 pm »

When I move a save file from my Mac to my PC, all the numbers are broken... I have 2 billion credits, various random values in various places, and the game properly ignores the save and just drops me in a new game.

Are the different game platforms saving integers with different integer endians? Can this be fixed? Have save files ever been cross platform compatible, or is this a new bug (I only recently got UQM for the first time).

They are indeed incompatible. We're still using the original save format; somewhere in the future, we will switch to a new, more flexible, save game format.
