I thought they were pretty much the same, or are you talking about the Precursors version? Just to clarify, I meant the original one, where (at least to my ears) there's not much background.

Personally, I prefer ZEX's flattery over the sex scene. "Beautiful, robust human" just rolls off the tongue~
I fully agree.  And it rolls right off the long, extended, batrachian tongue.

I think this is an excellent idea. I've always felt that the SC2 story could make a great movie, if not for the fact that you'd have to leave out too much to make it fit in two hours. (A tv series could work though).

But a musical, and I'm thinking of a stage musical, would work brilliantly. You can just have an alien come up and sing a few lines and then have it leave again. You wouldn't have to worry that you'd spent most of your time traveling hence and forth between planets, and you don't have to introduce all the species. You could sum up the reactions of all aliens to one event in just a single song. And all the aliens could be people in brightly-coloured, silly costumes.
A stage musical is so much more suited for the silliness of SC2 than a movie would be.

Those would be some elaborate costumes, there.  (That reminds me, does anyone know where to buy tentacle arms?  Gaia's link is broken, and searching for "tentacle" anything on there lands no results.)

Onto songs:

The Kzer-za would have a cool Villain Song, and/or their slaves could sing about how horrible their masters are.  Maybe the Kohr-Ah would sing an intense, menacing duet with their green foes.

The Spathi High Council would mix their countertenor, soprano, and sopranist voices as they retold the tale of the Evil Ones through song.  Fwiffo, too, would sing upon meeting the Captain.

The Thraddash would lyrically recount the glory of past cultures while simultaneously bragging about their toughness in rich baritones.

Talana would  have to have a contralto or mezzo voice.  Zelnick would be a tenor, young as he is.

As the only VUX who ever has any fun, ZEX would have a song to himself, one packed with military-related double entendres and sung in a light baritone (or possibly a tenor).

Yes, I have fun envisioning this.  (That's what happens when you're a deviant schoolgirl.)  Just imagine it!

A Star Control musical sounds amazing. Does it have to be with costumes though? I'm pretty unfamiliar with the rules for the genre, but couldn't you just make a CGI movie with singing animated aliens? Taking the game in account, I suppose it could even be an old fashioned cartoon. Maybe we should get Disney on the line and let them know we've got something that could be bigger than Fantasia?

I hear Scotland is filled with people who use such a device. Maybe you should consult with them.

If we're going to have a musical, we'd might as well have it on ice. Am I right?

-There is a car in your neighborhood (big surprise, in mine there is Tongue) which has "ZFP" in its register plate and you think the car turns on a small round that's REALLY small, but you remember though, that against larger cars the car must close distance immediately and give unrelenting tongue attacks until the enemy car or the car is destroyed.

NEW ONE!

When your steam friends conversations go like this

Battlefrank: are you going to try that game?
Osatox: Probably not... looks boring lol, I don't like Galaga type games much
Battlefrank: not like galaga AT ALL, dumbass
Osatox: I don't like it by the impression. How's that?
Battlefrank: it's not even an arcade type game like galaga
Battlefrank: trust me, it isn't boring
Battlefrank: what else are you gonna do?
Osatox: Watch T.V. and wait for my friend to come online
Battlefrank: failure.
Battlefrank: That game is the best game ever made and everyone who's played it agrees.
Battlefrank: stop being a dick about it and actually give it a try!
Osatox: Uhh, I'm not being a "dick" about it. What's entertaining for you, might not be for others. I'm skipping through a video about it, looks like a bunch of random videos and shit. I watch Aqua Teen Hunger Force when I want to see random comedy =P
Osatox: It looks retarded.

Battlefrank: you are being a dick about it. you should at least try something before calling it retarded. I CAN FLING SHIT TOO, DUMBASS.
Osatox: Ok kid, learn something about life real quick. Just because you like something, doesn't mean someone else will. And when someone says 'no thanks' in a nice way, you don't try and force it upon them.
Osatox: You just look annoying.
Osatox: Suck my dick please kthnx
Osatox is now Away.
