I was talking about this:

Wow, decent moderators! Grin I'm starting to like this forum much better than the SCDB! Well, now I need an Avatar...

That's great! This is a good place, and we hope you'll stay here exclusively! No use going back to that boring unfunny place Wink

It has to be a joke!  Battletoads was made by Rare, who is now under Microsoft, not Nintendo.  That clip is a bunch of other clips stolen from other videos.

There have been no official announcements from the developers or publishers directly about Battletoads.  Everyone seems to go to this site.

Although I would love to see a new Battletoads game, I don't think this is the real one.  I even called the phone number to see what would happen, and it is the Church of Scientology, so this may be someone's way of getting people to excessively call their church and waste their time. Sad

EDIT:  If you refresh the webpage, the phone number keeps changing, so it must be a scam!  I didn't bother calling the other numbers; I assume it's more Scientology churches.

It could just as easily say "Star Control for Wii", and I'd still wouldn't believe it until there's an official announcement.

...You actually had to call the number to figure out I was linking a prank?  Undecided

No, he just wanted proof that it was a prank.

Huh, I just googled "battletoads." Then I read about the prank. I guess your way works too, Anthony.

I knew it was a prank.  I just wanted to know what the number was.  I had no idea about the Scientology stuff until I made that call.

Battletoads was one of the BEST Nintendo games of its day. Its a crying shame a decent sequel hasn't been produced in many a year. (Same could be said about SC2...)

Then again, if they did make a Battletoads sequel, they would probably water it down and make it simple to beat -- completely contrary to the original.

There's an SNES game that's quite a bit easier without being a total pushover. I haven't played it because I still haven't quite been able to beat the older one from start to finish without using save states or continues.

Yeah, the SNES version was a pretty good sequel/remake, but that was a long time ago.

To be fair, it was only half the game the original was (6 levels vs 12 in the original). They left out such timeless levels such as Volkmire's Inferno and the Terra Tubes. Levels that often spelled doom for the lesser 'toad. They kept Karnath's Lair (hardest level in the game, IMO), but dummied it down quite a bit for the SNES. Still, the SNES version was fun for its updated graphics -- especially for the power moves.

Now if you're looking to beat the original game all the way through -- without continues or warps -- good luck. I could do it back in my NES hey-day. But even then, it was a grueling marathon.
