I urge you to pick your top 4 for this one because for everyone, the Umgah is the worst to be. That wouldn't be very fascinating results.

Why Androsynth? Aren't you like the best player in Melee?

You should learn to use the Guardian. In the right hands, it's very underrated.

We did. You did. Yes we can. No.
|
Syreen , Pkunk, Supox, Ilwrath
Too timid to properly handle the close flanking. (x 2)
Get turned around with the special.
I can never get the feel for which direction I'm facing.
BTW, you gave the ship name rather than species name only for the Ilwrath.

Ilwrath in second place? You guys are missing out, that ship is handy.
Umgah Drone

It's been done. I used to give that one guy so much grief because I thought he was using a custom-built AI to play his Umgah for him -- his handling of the Drone was that good.

Thanks for pointing this out!

Slylandro , Illwrath , Syreen .
My favorite against the AI is Mycon - quite handy against most enemies , while not too easy .

Slylandro: I never could fly that worth a damn. Not even basic maneouvering.
Supox: I never got the use of the special thing quite right.
Druuge: I thought this ship was a bit difficult to use because you really have to make your shots count to get the best out of this ship.
Mycon: Slow and Fat, more a target than anything. Can easily be made to run into own plasmoids, by any decent player that uses an Arilou or Pkunk, or picked apart, or beaten in a myriad of other ways.

Outside of the Umgah Drone, this seems like a very balanced answer pool.
I suck now (I can barely handle the Pkunk), but back in the day, I was an ace with most ships (I remember going 1-for-1 against the Korh-Ah with a Supox). I was taught to bob and weave with a Skiff and had to apply that to larger ships like the Dreadnaught. The only ships that I utterly failed doing that with are the Earthling Cruisers and Chenjesu Broodhomes.
The Cruisers are by far my worst ship; I can't leave second gear (near a gravity well) gbefore I get torn apart, and then if I somehow do get speed, the turning and (de-)acceleration rates conflict with each other horribly. Not to mention the fact that the Earthlings pontoons seem to "catch" too many things (like asteroids, ships, and even planets).
To learn how to pilot the Umgah Drones requires watching a lot of Awesomeness; the computer will always try to run slightly askew to their targets, align their afts to their victims, and reverse themselves (negating all forward momentum instantly) to almost "teleport" to the enemy's blind side. The Drone was small enough that it might avoid enemy fire and reach a planet, but it was so frail it's still considered a high risk investment. A slight "upgrade" would be the Druuge Cannon; using the same tactics, you can zip past your victim and make a slight aim adjustment as you fly by them.
The Mycon are potentially power-houses, but I agree with Terrell; slow and fat does not evasive maneuvers take. It is easy to run into your own plasma when you fight speedier ships, and against slower ships it becomes a contest of raw power in which the Podship is on the middleground at best. (Can toast the VUX, but cowls to the Ur-Quan)
And my best of my worst is the Broodhome. To me, it controls like a faster Cruiser, but the spokes at the aft tend to catch on objects too easily. The only "trick" to piloting one was to come to a full stop and turn back into "artilelry mode"; you gotta love the range on that weapon!
