3D models....
« on: April 20, 2008, 11:47:27 pm »

does there happen to be a place with 3d models of the various UQM/SC2 races available for download?

i wanna see if i can at least import one to the game Sins of a Solar Empire even if it has no textures with it.
i have an itch for modding and I want to see an Ur-Quan in some 3D action.

I remember seeing some models of Dreadnoughts and things that were designed for one of the Space Empires games, but I don't remember where.

I think sins is awesome...

it's hard for me to do it any justice by talking about it, look for videos or get the demo from their website, the only reason i even knew about it in the first place is that my dad is/was a beta tester for  sins of a solar empire.

and my model importing didn't do too well, getting the sizes right was a bitch but in the end i failed. i'm just gonna leave it up to whoever else wants to try the models i tried were the ones on the website described in the previous post.

Rejoice!

http://forum.uqm.stack.nl/index.php?topic=4119.0

I'm working on some models for the mod now, I have (all for Kzer-Za) Bomber model, Battlecruiser, Carrier, and the original Dreadnought either mostly done or finished.  I also have the X-fighter about 1/4 done, and I have the concept laid out.

Oh, and I believe fungus was referring to this:

I think SE IV was a 2d game, which would make those pictures the actual-ingame ships.

If you allow your models to be shared, it might be nice to add them to this Ultronomicon page, so others can find them more easilly.
