Okay, first post here. I have fond memories of SC2 (and the original even - never got into SC3 though). So, I just came across information on an upcoming game called "The Precursors". My first thought is naturally, "Hey - is it from the SC2 guys!?"
Well, it doesn't *appear* to tie in to the Star Control universe at all, but then maybe that's just not public information yet. Watching the video clip, the music definitely has a SC2 remix sound (to my ears at least). Totally different style of gameplay, unfortunately... or maybe not unfortunately. There appears to be quite a lot of variety; file this under a game I'll at least keep an eye on when it launches later this year.
Well, I don't think that has anything to do with Star Control, unfortunately. It does look very interesting, but a bit behind schedule: the English trailer says "coming late 2007." Also, the graphics don't look that great; probably the footage is from an alpha build.

Maybe it's just been too long since I played SC2? LOL. All I remember for sure is the original music was quirky/industrial sounding, and that trailer had a somewhat similar vibe at the start.
Well, it's not as good as Lode Runner: The Legend Returns or King's Quest VI, but the SC2 music is awesome. I wish there was a special soundtrack for the Sa-Matra, or maybe a special soundtrack for each ship. That would be awesome. But then again, I guess it would be better to just have a unique soundtrack for the Sa-Matra.
