Can't get aqua helix.

I just became the Thraddash's teacher, and if I remember correctly, this should enable me to get down to the surface of Delta Draconis I to get the aqua helix. Thing is, I don't have a clue how to do it. Everytime I go their homeworld, I get the same dialog about nothing.
Is this a bug, or am I just doing something stupid?

how do you become there teacher? i sat there and killed like 120 of there ships for 2 hours and nothing happened, so i ran away

You don't become the teacher by attacking their home world. You need to defeat a bunch of the squads in space. Pick off ... six(?) squads in deep space and they'll start to respect you.

No , it's number of individual ships in squads , not amount of squads . And six would only be average for the first acknoledgement , not the whole deal .
