So, I made some animations.  I think they're a little more complete than the other ones I've seen. :O

I think the frame rates should be okay, but I know I remember issues before with animations showing up differently in different browsers, being faster or slower, so I'm not completely sure.  Blah blah tell me if it looks too fast or slow on your browser.

In retrospect, maybe that should have been a longer animation. Tongue

My low-end computer running Firefox shows the animations to be running at perfect speed, so I guess they must be too fast.

Or, don't have enough frames.

Is it the number of frames or the overall file size?

Well, I suppose those two things would be related. But I don't really know exactly how those animations work, so that was pretty much a guess.

Yes, more frames means a larger file size, all other things being equal.  But for something like this, you can make the frames themselves smaller, since the entire image doesn't change, just a small part of it.  That cuts the overall size down.

Here's some initial animation of the mobster Spathi I've sketched couple of days ago . I plan on adding some movements , probably sliding motion , definately tommy gun pointing ...

The question is , and please be honest , should i bother at all , or ditch it and retry from scratch ( I don't really like the resoult so far ... )

EDIT - While at the airport i had some time , but it's hard to do on a lap with just the touchpad , so the frame is off ... I'll re-compile it when i'll have  some more appropriate conditions .

Oh , and i do know the elbow is waaaaay off , i'll take care of that .

Hey, not bad.

It's nice to see something art-related (or at least, related to one of my idea toss-ups) still running. I kinda got distracted from finishing my Ur-Quan project, and refining my steampunk ideas. Then again, don't be too shocked that my sig is relevant to my productiveness. Tongue

Keep up the good work BTW.

I could watch that all day.

Actually, I think I have an idea for my dual screen walpaper. I wonder if it'll animate...

Nice work waywardoctagon.

I think that speed of GIF animation doesn't depend on computer that is playing it.

If you set the delay to zero seconds, computer will run it as fast as it can, if there is no frame limiter.
(Internet Explorer have it but old Firefoxes doesn't i think)

If you set frame delay to for example to 0.1sec computer shows it that time, if you set it to 10s that frame shows 10 seconds.

So did you succeed? I have an, er, friend who'd be interested in this particular thing.

Really?  I'd had an experience before where an animation (with a longer delay than the minimum, I think) played differently in different browsers (on the same computer).  I thought perhaps they handled them differently, somehow.
