I don't think it's a good idea to have so many subforums. SCDB does that too, and they look vacant because of it. All three of the "Main" subforums could easily be smooshed down to one. I like the way the new forum looks. Nicer than this place, certainly.

Your site has too many different colors. And there should never be any moving or blinking objects.

I hope you will fix these points.
BUT HE IS SQUIRTING NICE COLORS.

It does look nice. But if this site is to succeed, with the PNF, SCDB, deviantArt group, UQM forums, and Ultronomicon already established, you need something which sets it apart. You need something which people can only find on your site, or something which they can find there more easilly. Just looking pretty isn't enough to get people to come back.

Also, you probably mean "All rights reserved". "All rights reversed" means something else, though I don't know what exactly. Smiley

Not bad.. I like the file attach ability. Has potential. I agree that your site needs to have something new to offer.

True.  Maybe the three forums can... maybe... form an alliance.  Hee hee.

One thing I noticed about the Star Control forums is that usually, there's not a lot of updates other than very few people replying to one topic.  For example, the bump thread for a new Star Control thread is starting to die off.  If you can update your forum with some cool stuff frequently and encourage people to reply, it will definitely start growing.  If you know how to use Google Webmaster tools, that would help with getting Star Control fans to find your site.

It's great that more people are creating dedicated fan sites out there.  So, I decided to add links to your sites to my blog.

By the way, the Star Control wallpaper is a nice touch too.

This is a good point. Even during high activity times the SCDB looks very vacant, since most activity is concentrated to the Off Topic board. Your forum looks nice and all, but there's a limited amount of fans out there. Most of them hang here. Unless you can figure out a way to bring in a lot of new people, you're going to have trouble attracting a large enough base.

You could also let Scott over on SCDB know and ask him to make a newspost, that'd get you a little more exposure.

Looks better. Is the UQM section also for general SC talk? And are you thinking of implementing skins?

But that might look better to outsiders than just having one, which would make us look irrelevant Grin

What happened, or is this just part of avoiding us since coming back from vacation?

Not trying to be discouraging, but I agree with all above who have pointed out that *juicy* needs a niche. Either something tangible that they won't find anywhere else, or a community which has a flavour different to those found elsewhere (a place for people banned from all the other forums for example  Tongue). I can't think of anything which isn't already covered though.

Maybe it would help for people to say what they would like which they can't find anywhere else.

I understand that *juicy* needs content what other site doesn't have. I'm right now downloading some SC-related videos, which can be watched from *juicy* online, in future. Also I've been loading huge amount of SC-pictures and making galleries of them, so future updates will add lots of visual content. If someone has pictures, videos or anything else content, please send it and your name/nick to my email.

Ideally, you'd want something which will cause people to come back. That means either regularly new content, or something which can be used as a reference.
Maybe you could host some sort of Star Control based game. A bit like the role playing as on the SCDB, but then different.

Heh, nothing really. There's no drama involved, and I'll be back when the time is right.

This is hard. I usually don't know what I like before I see it. A nifty interface that lets you design stories?

He could host the frungy_lovers story archive or something. That place is pretty active and creative.

Wasn't there another role playing form as well, that Pelork did? I recall some sort of board format where you built fleets and moved them. Some sort of automated board game with an SC theme would probably draw a lot of people. But then again, it's a lot of work as well.
