DOSBox Scaler Question
« on: August 03, 2008, 01:34:30 am »

So I rather like the Baidu scaler in UQM, and while I like HQx3 in DOSBox, I don't think it looks as good. Is there any way to port the Baidu scaler over to DOSBox proper and use it on my other old games?

Or is that tied to the programs themselves (eg. can't do it unless I learn C++ or whatever), and/or the scaler only really looks good in UQM because it was specifically made for it?

I assume you mean the advanced adaptive bilinear scaler (biadv). It should be possible to add it to DOSBox, but due to differences in how DOSBox handles graphics (more different colour depths, for example), it's not entirely straightforward; extensive rewriting may be necessary.
