I was all set to repair the ultron when I noticed the clear spindle vanished from my inventory! I think it's because I have two mycon egg shells in my inventory, and only 10 items are allowed, but once the rosy sphere entered my inventory, the clear spindle vanished. Any ideas on what to do?

If you've repaired the Ultron partway, its sprite should look slightly different. You could take a screencap that shows it, and compare that to what it looks like in an earlier savegame, if you have one.

I never did like how that worked. You just use it and bam... it's gone, nothing else happens, no message. It was so... opaque.

The way it then closes the devices menu is probably the most confusing bit of the process.
