Whilst I was browsing Anthony's excellent Star Controller, I noticed something:
Star Control 3's Sa-Matra from the introduction movie looks rather similar to Star Control 2's boxart:

I'm pretty confident, that on the box it was supposed to be Ur-Quan ship.
Other than that, have anyone played "Mission critical"? The science vessel looks remarkably similar too.

What I want to know is what that thing behind the captain is in the original box art. It looks like one of those deep sea lantern fish.
