I'm not familiar with the challenges but has anyone tried finishing the game without using the starmap?

*edit* Of course I meant the ingame starmap.

I never used the starmap. What's the point in it? There's one in the game.

Unless you mean that starmap, in which case I think you're insane! Wink But maybe I'll try that. That sounds fun.

The starmap is more helpful than essential.

It shows known spheres of influence for unknown races (pkunk, druuge, thraddash, zoq-fot-pik) so it gives you an opportunity to discover these guys.

And it also shows the little lines that make the constellations. Quite useful when looking for the snakelike constellation that swallowed the "elephantine beast".

Playing without the game's starmap wuould be interesting though. You'd just fly off in the general direction of where you're trying to go. Might be fun

The reason I think it would be fun is it would ressurect a lot of exploration. It would also require you to have a general idea where the stars are. Unless you choose to use a starmap, you also have to create your own map.

In short, I think that challenge would make UQM fun again, because you once again get to explore! Grin

I beat football in high school.  And all I got from it was sore knees and a messed up back!

That's the 'okay' ending. See the guide to get the 'best' ending.

Hmph. I never liked football, so I just looked up the cheat codes and gave myself infinite lives and ammo.
