Starcon2 multiplayer?

Are there IRC channels, hamachi groups, whatever dedicated to Star Control? 

I've spent a few minutes googling, and the best I've found so far is #starcontrol on EFNet, which appears to be relatively low activity at first glance.

#sc2 and #uqm-arena on irc.freenode.net. The former is for SC2 and UQM discussions in general, the latter is for UQM network supermelee.

Activity is usually quite low on Freenode as well. I think it might be time to start another tournament soon.

why don't we just set up a lobby in the UQM melee game that lets you go to a server where people are? You could then challenge people to games through it with some sort of protocol.
To simplify it could just be an IRC chatroom for beta versions.

I think I asked about this from someone in the channel, and they told me that it was a hell to make even the IP entering box or something like that. So if you can program, do it yourself, lots of fellows could have use for it.
