Fallout 3 is finally out! Anyone got his hands on it already? What characters would you want to play? What about previous games (Fallout series is by my opinion the best game series E.V.E.R.)? Anyone wants to let his nerd rage run free? Be my guest
After seeing the manual I'm really starting to think that this game will suck hard. Before it I had a bit of hope. I love(d) the previous games, including Tactics (but not console heresy). So I wanna hear your opinions about Fallout in general - let it out people!

Sorry Shiver, didn't saw that one, but I don't think that they are all that alike. I took the title from here:

Once again, I had no intention to copy you:P

I really liked the first two Fallout games, so I'm definitely curious about this one. I'm a little skeptical though because it's made by the same company that made Oblivion -- which I found lacking as far as RPGs go. Nevertheless, I'll be interested to hear what others have to say about it before making any kind of decision on whether or not to pick it up.

Oh. It's just No Mutants Allowed. That's great, let's bring their signature brand of extreme negativity to this community too.
To be on topic, I'm waiting to see what people I know personally think of the game after a few weeks once the novelty wears off. As we all know, professional game reviewers are not reliable. If it's not a big step up from Oblivion then I'm not buying it at full price.

I liked Fallout and Fallout 2. The freedom of choice is kind of a hit and miss thing though, since I tended to just wander off and then lose interest in the game for a few weeks. I'm not good unless I have clear goals.
That's why I really enjoyed Fallout Tactics, even though it's much less of an RPG, I know pretty much what to do all the time. Of course "enjoy" is relative, I've made it to level 8 or so in the last 3 years. I finished Fallout 1&2 much faster, but under different circumstances.
In short, the post apocalyptic world they created is really fascinating, as is the degree of freedom they've incorporated. Somehow it still often left me wanting more, and the engine would bug out every now and then. I'll be waiting for other peoples reactions to the game before I try it out, but it could be good. I never played much Oblivion, but the engine looked fairly interesting.

You could always just go to Blockbuster or someplace like that and rent it. =p See if it's worth the $$ that way. I probably won't have the cash extra to pick it up myself until February the way things look, but definately will be getting it eventually. I haven't had any chance to play the game yet, but from what I've seen of the website, Bethseda has done a very good job sticking with the feel of the Fallout world at least. I'll get the 360 version of it though, my PC is abit on the outdated side of life at the moment.

Tried the game out recently. I have to say that I flat out can't make myself enjoy it at all. Years ago I put a lot of hours into both Morrowind and Oblivion. Now I'm sick of the formula. Fallout 3 has definite improvements over previous Bethesda titles, but those aren't enough to keep me playing.
