Seriously, though, while I would love to write a huge apology letter and such to the SCDB, I can't because I'm banned (and this also means I can't contact Scott...), so you might as well give it a rest, unless you would like to be a middleman and deliver a message to Scott?
I highly regret my childish actions in the past; it had largely to do with a major depression (read: desire to die) I had just gone through. Sorry, Shiver, but I can't change the past, I can only learn. I realize that there will always be a scar on my reputation in this community; no one will forget. If you want to ban me, Meep-Eep, go ahead. It won't make a difference. My reputation is already scarred for life in this community, which in my opinion is already the ultimate punishment.
It's your choice, Shiver. You can stay mad forever, or you can put it behind you. You will have to decide which you are going to do.

I put that poll in here on a whim without really expecting it to go anywhere, but will state my position if that is what people want.
Jaychant seems to think that he committed some singular offense once upon a time, but every post he makes is inane crap,
and he posts frequently. It's simply embarrassing to read what he writes. This is why I don't like him and why he was removed
from SCDB. Furthermore, he seems incapable of improving his posting habits up to a tolerable level of quality any time soon,
if ever. As I have said before, some people can't help themselves. Jaychant is one of those people; his incomprehension of the
frustration many people feel toward him supports this. A community should not have to bend over backwards to accommodate
a troublemaker, even if that troublemaker has the best of intentions. So yes, I do want to see jaychant banned. He will continue to
deluge our forum with a continuous stream of horrible drivel until that happens.
It seems to be 57% against banning now. And this seems needlessly hostile.
I am sure that it does. You are the resident Carebear Fundamentalist after all.

This is much better than just making belittling comments. If you don't like someone it seems more honest and much less cowardly to just state your case this way than to restrict yourself to making snide remarks all the time. Glad to see you (finally) chose a civilised way to handle your business.

to bring down the wrath of the moderators. This "civilized" discourse is equally useless; I knew that even the guys in
#uqm-arena wouldn't back me up. I don't know about you people, but when I read a certain amount of stupid crap from
one person, I have to vent at them. So you see, I don't have a lot of choice here.
It will be interesting to see what the poll evens out at. Right now it's at 62% against bannning, but I suppose it is early days yet.

Assuming that by "you people" you mean the members of the UQMF, doesn't that sort of imply that jaychants postings is accepted by all but a small vocal minority on the board?
EDIT: Well maybe not a small minority, a third of the voters so far. It'll be interesting to see where this thing ends up.
To clear things up I don't really care that much if jaychant posts here or not. Most of his posts seem to involve either coding/formula questions or talk about his "Game Company". Since neither interests me very much, I usually skim those threads. I do think that your aggression is a bit unwarranted and that your recent passive-aggressive behaviour has been slightly annoying. If you really need to vent, feel free to take this to PM's, we can shout at each other all day if that makes you feel better. Every time jaychant makes a post, you feel is sub-standard shoot me a PM complaining about it and I'll do my best to be extremely anal about how you formulate yourself.

I have seen a fair number of Jaychant's posts, and quite frankly, his posting habits have improved greatly. Every post he makes is crap?! Sorry, but you're going way overboard on this.
You, on the other hand, seem to use every opportunity to flame Jaychant, and occasionally others as well. To his credit, Jaychant has evolved from flaming you back to just good-natured deflections.
He has come a long way from the old pubbie that justifiedly (IMO) got banned from the SCDB. He has matured, unlike many. Which is commendable in my opinion.
Don't get me wrong, Shiver - I think you're a valuable part of this community, with tons of good & intelligent contributions. Sometimes, however, you're an annoying, petty troll.
You tend to be like a volcano - erupting at everything you find slightly annoying, which is many things indeed. Heck, I expect to get a "what an unbelievable idiot" comment to this.
Short cliche version: Dude, chill.
Now, I understand your reasons for doing this. Jaychant does post a lot, and some of it can still be classified as drivel. However, most of it are completely ok, decent posts.
Troublemaker? Hardly. When it comes to being civilized, he's quite a ways ahead of you. Tons of useless posts? Some perhaps, but really not much.
I see you mentioned Valaggar. Heh, now there's a spammer extraordinaire... however, I believe that most people here think that, in retrospect, it was actually good to have him!
He spammed, but also contributed. And just like Jaychant, he matured and was quite "tame" in the end.
Point being - sure Jaychant has his flaws, but you exaggerate them way out of proportion.

So far only Shiver has had the balls to voice his opinion on Jaychant. Who are the other cowards who have actually gone for the "ban Jaychant" option but havent said anything? Show yourselves weaklings!
Unless your vote was just tongue-in-cheek. If it is its a dangerous game you play.
I would like to join this carebare fundamentalism sect by the way. Where do I go to do this.
P.S. I'd have Valaggar back - he'd managed to restrit himself to 3 posts per day...not too bad. Anyone remember what the final tipping point with the moderators was?

I would love to argue my case here and could do a very good job doing it, but it just doesn't seem like that would be very... for lack of a better word, I'd pick either noble, right, or cool. Like if I was to argue, I would feel like a jerk, and like I was blind to the truth. I don't know, it just doesn't seem right to point out one's own good side.
