real basic question
« on: January 27, 2003, 04:07:09 am »

Hi, I'm liking the look of this new version of the greatest game ever a lot, having been playing the Star Control series ever since it came out on Megadrive/Genesis and been hooked ever since Smiley
My question is one of simplicity - how do I go about using cthe command line options for fullscreen/opengl/etc..
I've tried what I do when playing, say Counter-Strike - rightclick on a shortcut and edit the target. But when I do this with UQM, it doesn't like it. What am I doing wrong? BTW, running win2k and I know that *smelling pretty colours is definitely the best game.*

Thanks and grooves,
The Forager

No problem!
  • Reformat your drive.
  • Install Linux.
  • Download sources for UQM and build.
  • Invoke game with whatever command-line switches you like from a terminal window.
Warning: may cause data loss.

In all seriousness, though, if you are doing what you claim to be doing, it should work.  The only thing I could suggest is wrapping the program name in quotes, Windows seems to like it when you do that for some reason..

you could also try running the game from a command prompt (YES that nasty old 'DOS-like' interface).  It should at least tell you what is wrong.

I used quotes and put my options outside them and it's working fine now Smiley
