UQM released on CD
« on: April 16, 2009, 07:39:02 pm »

Hi everybody. I buy Maximum PC mag every month. The recent issue April/09 CD contained some games and one of them was "The Ur-Quan Masters"! I installed it and it runs great! What a kool game!

Hey that's pretty neat that it's being distributed in a mainstream medium.

Can only raise awareness of the game.

Is it accompanied with an article?

Just as a guess it would seem they at least have the website in there somewhere (since the OP found the forums), and at least on their website they have a little blurb about UQM, I'm guessing a decent likely hood that theres a matching blurb somewhere around that, but knowing mags like that it's most likely just a short bit on the CD sleeve or the plastic wrap perhaps. But a little bit's better than nothing and it introduced at least one person to UQM.

I saw this in that blurb:
Quote
This is the open-source recreation of Star Control II...

UQM IS SC2, just updated some and ported to other platforms. I don't like that they say "recreation", because that just makes it look like a crappy fan game that someone made, and it's not.
