92 and then I had to give up. All those island nations are a bugger. Also I missed a bunch of countries because I... um... can't spell. And, of course, on seeing the answer I had a lot of "how could I have forgotten them" moments.

Will try it now.
Edit: You got 159 out of 195 Countries of the World.
Last minute or so I was pretty lost 
As for the US, I got 42/50 and then blocked out completely!

I haven't tried, but it seems to me that the trick would be to do it in some sensible order. And of course you need to know the material. I could do the US states, since I'm very familiar with their arrangement, but I don't have the countries of, say, Africa properly mapped out in my head. Even though I know the names, and know where most are, it's not enough.

Damn spending 30 seconds trying to spell Leichtenstein, and another 30 trying to spell Suriname!

Got 48 states in under 5 min, then couldnt get frikken Iowa and Arkansas in the next 5.
