Getting this to work from a USB stick
« on: October 29, 2009, 05:19:08 am »

I need someone to help me make the game self contained on a USB stick. I have tried everything I can to get the damn save files to not save local, to no avail.
Help?

Create a .bat file with the following contents:
Code:
uqm.exe --configdir=.
Then place the contents of your UQM application data folder (Under Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\YOURUSERNAME\Application Data\uqm, under Vista and Windows 7 it's c:\users or something?), which should contain a 'save' folder, a 'teams' folder and a few configuration files (flight.cfg, keys.cfg, melee.cfg, uqm.cfg) in the same folder as uqm.exe
Then just run the .bat file and you're go!

You might want to approach the Portable Apps team (http://portableapps.com). They do this sort of thing a lot and it'll benefit both projects.
