What?! I thought you said the Ilwrath ship was "all but destroyed"? Then in the next second it burns us to a cinder...there isn't an option to avoid the fire or something? I was under the impression that the ship was now incapable of destroying us and the dilemma was a purely moral one, not one of self-defense. If I had know that I would have blasted them.

But now that I'm in the tribunal I'll pick 1

You're not a captain (and it looks like you won't be), just a lowly gunner. The captain didn't expect his gun to stop firing when he moved in for the kill. When it did, he was (naturally) surprised and as a result, even with one crew member left the Ilwrath managed to torch you.

After thinking about it you tell the Tribunal that you’re perfectly happy with your choice. They hoot a bit and send you on your way to a new life.

You grow up to become an esteemed healer in Pkunk society. You are skilled at relieving pain and soothing troubled minds. You often travel between worlds, to find the souls that others can’t help. Your work is good and you are appreciated by all, but you are considered a bit too serious for a Pkunk. Frolicking and merrymaking are not really a part of your life, as you strive to learn more for the greater good.

One day, you encounter an old Pkunk with a mysterious disease. You’ve never seen anything like it before, but you know that he must be helped. After toiling for days against whatever is ravaging him, you make a horrifying discovery. It’s contagious and you have contracted it. You may still be able to find a cure, but that would mean killing your patient in order to create a cure. Will you?

1.   Yes, I am an important doctor and my continued life will help many others!
2.   No, I will soothe his pain for as long as I can. I cannot take a life.

Hmmmm...well the patient is a Pkunk so he won't *die* in a traditional sense of the word...so yeah, let's go back to our research and cure the galaxy!

I ask my patient's permission.

Your patient is no longer coherent and cannot understand you. You also have a feeling that the gods are watching and that you really only have two alternatives.

How vexing. What a serious and sad decision we must make as our final one before the tribunal. However, I fear that if my patient no longer has any quality of life, and a disease both contagious and lethal, then failing to continue to work on a cure could create a terrible pandemic and send us ALL to the tribunal earlier than we expect. And if we're all dead, how could we reincarnate as Pkunk?

Option 1.

Ah, well, if he's basically gone, I'll hasten him on a little and cure everyone else!

No point in discussing my moral stance on the options, since the circumstances are very weird anyway. For the sake of the game, #1.

Well, I don't want to kill anyone, but... he would die anyway, and if I don't kill him, someone else will risk contracting the disease from me, leading to a pandemic.

With this in mind, I choose the option that I really do not want to choose: #1.
