googled 'sc2 remake' or something like that, I think... my early posts don't give any hints on this.

Don't remember. I think I used to check PoNaF's front page, and found UQM from there. It's odd that I never bothered with their forum and jumped right into this one. Maybe that isn't what happened?

I think back when you joined the current SCDB didn't exist, they had a butt ugly old discussion board software running.

I've been a SC fan since the early 90's release on the Genesis.  SC2 came along later on and I was hooked.  Feeling nostalgic one day a couple years back (I think it was that long ago?) I found UQM Smiley

The original Star Control was one of my favorite Amiga games. Back in 95, A friend who owned the 3DO invited me over to play SC2. There was a large group of people in his house playing an impromptu tournament. I was unaware there was a sequel until that point. Years later, I was looking for an emulator to replace my then totally broken 3DO and found the UQM project. I had never even visited an IRC channel or participated in a Internet forum before. I guess I hadn't found anything I thought was worth the bother until now.

I believe the key to maintaining a strong player base for UQM in the future; will be the addition of a connection lobby to the software.

SC2 on 3DO was one of my favorite childhood memories. Many years ago I decided to start playing again because I never found ZEX's animal and wanted to give it another try. The result of a google search to point me in the right direction probably brought me to PoNaF, then here.

Spent many hours in my bestfriend's basement playing SC 1 and 2 back in 94 on both his genesis and computer.

Was probably a google search pointed me to this site.  or it couldve been a friend's link.
