I like most of it, but the dominant instrument from 2:04 to 2:17 really annoys my ears...

Tell me if this alleviates the pain:

It is not "pain" it just doesn't fit inside my personal preferances in music.
In the second version I failed to notice differenes, my ears aren't subtle instruments.
In addition - I don't want you to change something on my word only, maybe you should wait for more responses?

After you said something it made me notice that the orchestra hits and the lead guitar were a tad louder than the rest.
Especially during the areas mentioned.

Fun Fact:
This is the first of the Riku Nuottajärvi composed songs I did and from what I can tell most of his samples aren't in line with the notation in the .mod, meaning what could be a C is really an A sharp. Kinda bugs me but I can get around that.

I really like what you've done with this, but I won't give my full opinion until you're mostly satisfied with it. Keep up the good work, dude ^.^

Your Yehat remix is pretty good, but I don't like the sound used from 1:32-1:47. The tone just seems too harsh and distorted. Same with 2:02-2:16 to a lesser extent. Also, I think the sounds in the outro should be sustained longer.

Well the project I have in mind, if I even make it a project, is to basically be the most faithful recreation of the original.
Just take what is there and update it. No additional pieces nor any removals of certain parts.

The 3DO release tried to do this with the incidental/ambient music but didn't even touch the comm music, kinda disappointing since they did a decent job.

So maybe I should change the title to "remasters"?

Anyways I have made a semi-tolerable remaster of the Ur-Quan comm music; http://www.mediafire.com/?naz99fd7khlycu1

Check it out.

I honestly don't particularly like it. It really doesn't seem to capture the essence of the Ur-Quan at all. I can't explain it; maybe it's just the instrument choice or something.

Well I said in my original remaster that I would fix the Vux and so here it is, just a tad late.

DOWNLOAD HERE

Also added a bit of attitude to it, so I guess I can call it a remix now.

Has it been this long?

How bout a Kohr-Ah remaster using stringed instruments?
