In the browser-based MSORPG Kingdom of Loathing, there are several SC2 references, from the simple appearance of the starfish, to the arrangement of the rainbow islands. But the latest is by far the most elaborate. They implemented a video arcade on the wrong side of the tracks in the seaside town. In it, among other things, is a fully playable minigame, 'space trip', which is a turn-based game very reminiscent of SC2.
If any of you want to try it out, just sign up for the game (free), and ask me for a few game tokens (dollar equivalent value ~$0.01 each, for now, and probably dropping). Supplies are limited at any moment, but I accumulate them over time.

Or maybe he is... Anyway, I don't suggest you play this one for the graphics.

Oh wow, I actually liked the graphical style. I am now seriously thinking about joining. Though time might not allow it...

What what what the hell is that. Is it a grotesque parody of all browser-based RPG games?

Grotesque? Monochrome, yes. Deceptively simplistic art, yes. While not focusing on unimportant gunk like multiple animation frames and cartesian location, they have made a game that is simultaneously hilarious and has deep gameplay strategies; and the ascension mechanic helps keep your attention in the long term. It simultaneously appeals to achievers, explorers, competitors and socializers. The 0wners don't have a lot to do, to be sure.
And it antedates almost all of those browser-based RPG's - it's something like 7 years old now.
ETA: the mechanics are fairly simple, but you can tweak just about any of them, for a price. It's choosing which ones to focus on, and timing, and how best to handle good and bad luck -- that's where the strategy comes in.

Trouble? If you like reading funny things, it won't be trouble. And the community is really good mainly because in order to enter the chat system you need to pass an english test.
Also, in how many games is it a decent idea to drink until you're almost falling over before breakfast?

Thank you . Looks interesting, and actually Starflight inspired instead of SC2-inspired?

Definitely a mix. In addition to the procrastinators, there's an Orz/Druuge hybrid. And you go on biological hunts - did starflight have that?
By the way, KoL five years ago : KoL today :: SC2 with just the portion of the starmap southwest of 350,350 : SC2.

There is a SPATHI ELUDER in this game why was this not mentioned before. At the astronomy memorial in the cannon museum, one of the distant objects is The Eluder.
