UQM Extended bug -booting me every time i fight a probe

since i bet the game way way back in teh day i thought i would give UGM extended a shot
but every time the part comes where i am about to do battle with a probe it boots me back to the main menu, new game load game etc
how could this possibly be overlooked wtf is going on here
i fought that spathi ship no problem so its definitely probe specific
i tried to skip the convo and go right to the battle and i get the same result, boots me out to the menu

BTW i was obsessed w this game when i was 12, 13 yrs old, spent a whole summer mastering it, very very cool that there is a PC version of this now brings back a lot of memories

edit- actually it turns out it IS random, i was about to fight an ilwrath and i got booted back to the main menu

First of all, do you mean The Ur-Quan Masters - Extended Edition or UQM+? They are two different mods!

UQM+ is based on a horribly out of date version of UQM, so it has lots of bugs and problems. The Extended Edition is actually based on a newer codebase than the last official UQM release.

got through the whole game in a couple days, saved the game enough so that if i got booted going into a battle i could start back up again

wish there was more new stuff in the extended edition (im assuming everything that was added is listed in the differences.txt) but i definitely dig the changes that were made. was fun to run through the game again for the first time in 15+ yeras. memory lane. now if we can just get a legit sequel...or if that nicholi <sp?> guy can finish that mod... Grin
