I enjoy overthinking things.

I mean, these guys were a part of a peaceful league of intelligent life forms for some unspecified amount of time, with probably no wars. If they made it that far, I think they can sustain themselves. You mean the sentient Milieu? I thoroughly doubt that every participating species was a peaceful one. Let's not forget there were hundreds of members. Furthermore, It seems more likely to me the whole arrangement was no more than some kind of mutual assistance pact among a large, unstructured collection of species. I do not doubt they were peaceful toward their own. However, so little is known about the Sentient Milieu era, who's to say they never had any wars before that infamous Ur-Quan scout indirectly caused the destruction of the Sentient Milieu?
As for the fate of the Faz, I believe it was mentioned somewhere that the Ur-Quan slave shield is not capable of staying up forever. They were the first species the Ur-Quan imprisoned beneath a slave shield. Because this slave shield was the first one ever erected, it makes sense to imagine it was not as advanced as the Kzer-Za's "current" technology. They are known as effete scientists and bureaucrats, so there must have been some technological advancement since then. The Faz must have eventually either discovered a means of neutralizing the shield or escaped after it finally faded due to extreme age.

I have nothing to say angist the Kohr-Ah. They seem to be wise and emotive, but forced to cleanse the galaxy for their own good while the Kzer-Za seem to act somewhat arrogantly

That theory has been bandied about before, but isn't that likely. The Melnorme only refer to one Mileu race from our sector of space, which would be the Taalo, which means the Faz are likely somewhere else, possibly still stuck under their slave shield. Of course, with 20000 years to try to find a way out, maybe they broke it on their own, or died out for one reason or another.
or, got out of slave shield in another sector of the galaxy, and migrated here, to this quadrant. despite they were not living here as a milieu race before (unlike taalo), they now, are.

God, I hate the Utwig. Their voice is so annoying.
I am speechless with rage... and yet, I must speak! How dare you flaunt the collective embarrassment of the Utwig?! You will now pay for your severe breach of etiquette! --- Zelnick dies --- Sorry, but they're so Whiny!

Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.
