Sound and joystick issues
« on: September 23, 2010, 05:16:29 pm »

Ok, first off the sound issue.  I was experimenting with the different sound settings, but my computer didn't like the alternate setting and dumped the game.  It refuses to run now, and I'm not sure how to implement the suggested switch correctly.  Hell, I even erased the game directory and re-installed! It must save the configuration data (and hopefully the save files) elsewhere on the system. '--sound=none' is the suggested option.

The other problem is the controller.  I have a PS2-to-USB adapter that's properly installed in the system.  When I try to set my controller configuration up with it, it dosen't recognize any inputs.  I've tried it in various USB ports.

Update: Sound resolved, I hit the FAQ and found the config file.  Deleted it, and all was well. No answers there for this particular joystick issue though that I could find.

I believe the controller issue has something to do with changing the ini from player 1 to player 0 or something?

Delete keys.cfg. On Windows, it's found on "{user name}\Application Data\Roaming\uqm" or something like that. On Linux, it's on "{home}/.uqm".

Thanks, that did the job.  All my old tricks for getting it to work were for an older version.
