Xfire support for The Ur-Quan Masters
« on: October 12, 2010, 06:17:43 pm »

I have posted request to Xfire forums and we will hopefully have Xfire support for UQM. This would be very useful to those UQM players who use Xfire.
Please, if there are any Xfire users registered on this forum put a support to my post: http://www.xfire.com/forums/182627/topic/2207625/

While I agree that we should have some "lobby" for network SuperMelee, Xfire is not the answer.
UQM is cross-platform, while Xfire is apparently Windows only.

Haha, its been a while. There is an ancient thread about this somewhere - circa 2007 maybe.

While Xfire may not be the answer, it's certainly a step in the right direction and will surely give UQM (and the Star Control series) more publicity in the modern gaming world.  Which is a good thing. Tongue

I briefly looked at it again in the summer (enough to add some stuff to the protocol design), but I haven't had much time to spare for UQM lately. That said, I could try to make time, e.g. next weekend.
