Star Control: The Gathering
As a joke, I made up a bunch of cards for the various ships. Of course, since all ships are flying, I make 'flying' the distinction of whether the ship is faster than an Ur-Quan Fighter (inclusive) or not. First strike means has a long-range attack.
Ur-Quan Dreadnought WUKRG Starship - Kzer-Za Ur-Quan Dreadnought 6/1 comes into play with 5 +0/+1 counters. 1, remove a +0/+1 counter from this: put a 1/1 token creature into play. This token creature is an artifact creature with flying and haste. At end of turn, if this Dreadnought and the token are in play, it stops being a 1/1 flying token and becomes a +0/+1 token on this.
Melnorme Trader 5 U Starship - Melnorme Trader 1/4 During your upkeep, put a +2/+0 counter on Melnorme Trader. Whenever Melnorme Trader deals damage, remove all of its +2/+0 counters. Tap: Target creature loses all activated abilities until end of turn. Every time a non-starship creature would go to the graveyard from play, if there is not already a copy of that card under Melnorme Trader, put it under Melnorme Trader instead and draw a card. Creatures under Melnorme Trader do not count as being in play.
Zoq-Fot-Pik Stinger WGR Starship - Zoq-Fot-Pik Stinger 1/1 Flying WGR: +4/+0 until end of turn. Zoq-Fot-Pik can not have first strike.
Chmmr Avatar 3 WWWW Starship - Chmmr Avatar 6/4 When Chmmr Avatar enters play, put three Zapsat counters on it. At the beginning of each turn, prevent damage to Chmmr Avatar equal to the number of Zapsat counters on it. If damage in excess of the number of zapsat counters is dealt to Chmmr Avatar, flip a coin. If the outcome is heads, remove a Zapsat counter and prevent all of the damage. At the beginning of combat, if Avatar has any Zapsat counters, it deals 1 damage to all creatures it is blocking or blocked by which do not have first strike.
VUX Beast RG Summon Beast 2/3 At the end of your turn, if VUX Beast is a creature and did not attack this turn, it deals 2 damage to you. May be cast as a creature enchantment on a starship. Each turn, starship VUX Beast enchants gets -0/-2.
Shofixti Scout 1 R Starship - Shofixti 1/1 Flying Sacrifice Shofixti Scout: deal 2 damage to target creature blocking or blocked by Shofixti scout. "Kyaiee!!" - Tanaka (No, not Takara)
Earthling Cruiser 2 W Starship - Earthling 2/2 First Strike 1: prevent all damage to Earthling Cruiser in this batch of effects that is in packets of 1.

Where do you get the Dreadnaught being all 5 colors? I really don't see any blue or green in them at all...

Utwig Jugger 5/5 When Utwig Jugger comes into play, put 5 shield counters on Utwig Jugger. Remove 1 shield counter from Utwig Jugger: Prevent all damage to Utwig Jugger from any one source. Put shield counters on Utwig Jugger equal to the number of damage points prevented. Utwig Jugger can never have more than 5 shield counters.

Note that this effectively means: Utwig Jugger does not take damage unless you put six sources of damage on the stack at once.
Better, "play this ability as a sorcery"

I just realized that "as a sorcery" means that it can't absorb damage when blocking. Hmmm... Maybe it should be a triggered effect, triggered by the beginning of combat phase before declaration of attackers? (and remain optional)

Sure it can, you just have to declare that it's absorbing damage before the attack phase. All sorts of interesting strategy there.

Luki, thank you for making me laugh the hardest I've laughed in a while, with your post about Sim Control.
The lot of you are also insane. And very humorous. *smile*
I think it might be interesting to play a game based on the Androsynth's point of view, starting from their rebellion from Earth (some things could be tweaked so that the Earthling Cruisers actually do catch up with some of the fleeing Androsynth), and their intial encounter with other races, and the battles against the Ur-Quan upon first meeting them. And of course, experienced based on being an Ur-Quan Combat Thrall, including wreaking vengeance on Earthling Cruisers with your new Androsynth Guardians. (Would an interesting experience developing the technology for that ship.) Your encounters with other starfaring races, and of course, the Orz Invasion.
