Kohr-Ah Death March
« on: May 10, 2011, 06:41:10 am »

When the Death March began, the Kohr-Ah exterminate all race including the Druuge, Mycon, VUX, Orz, Spathi, Zoq-Fot-Pik, Arilou, Umgah, Thraddash, Supox, Utwig, Yehat, Pkunk, Ilwrath and Earthling/Humans. Once the Kohr-Ah reached Earth and the game will end immediately. But why the Kohr-Ah didn't cleanse the Chmmr, Syreen and Shofixti

The Chmmr and Syreen are slave-shielded on different planets and the Shofixti are presumed to be exterminated; either way, they have no easily detectable activity and their home planets are dead or infested by other species. The Kohr-Ah technically cleanse everything with a sphere of influence (except, obviously, themselves).

Why do the Humans get a sphere of influence then?

Actually, they don't; Sol is handled as a special case: if no spheres of influence exist, the Kohr-Ah head for Sol and wipe it out. I imagine this may have something to do with a massive Precursor vessel suddenly popping up out of nowhere from Vela and heading for Sol at least once.

Seems like a safe assumption. Presumably the Kohr-Ah don't bother with the Chmmr or Syreen until after Sol because they're assumed to be safely contained under their slave shields, and not using Precursor service vessels to fly around and collect dangerous artifacts and creatures. Rest assured that the Kohr-Ah haven't forgotten about them, though.

I wonder how much fire power it would take to crack a slave shield.

No doubt it wouldn't matter; the Kzer-Za would likely hand over the "keys" upon their defeat.

Don't think so. Neither I think they would volunteer info about any slaveshield locations.

But the battle was about who's method of dealing with other races would be followed. If the Kzer-Za agree to that kind of ritual combat wouldn't they also honor the result?

Hmm... Good point. But I still think Kzer-za would try to somehow preserve life and hinder the path of Eternal Doctrine, though not openly. They are supposedly the smarter of two sub-species.

Which makes you wonder why there ships are not more technologically advanced then the Kor-Ah ships when they were created to be builders and warriors, not scientists.

I suspect the Kohr-Ah aren't above salvaging technology from cleansed filth, or using designs of Kzer-Za origin dating back to the Dnyarri empire. As the very doctrine they enforce implies, they probably aren't super picky about what means they use to achieve their ultimate goal.

To say nothing of the fact that there is no greater catalyst for innovation than war, and both Ur-Quan subspecies have been at perpetual war with the entire galaxy for millennia. Just because they didn't start as scientists, doesn't mean they don't have any.

Well as they say in-game, they keep trophies of the species they've killed in it. Whenever they're bored, they love to get their bone on.
