Over the many years of Ur-Quan playing (never played the original) i keep being disappointed about the game ending.... I find and buy new space games only to find my self comparing them to Ur-Quan Masters, they always fail. They don't seem to have that great feeling when playing them, graphics is good but as far as a concept goes, Ur - Quan masters is unbeatable. In the end i programed my own Ur - Quan masters game with a dynamic world, it worked great and me and my son have played it since 2009. But i now have a problem, I want a MMO Ur - Quan masters, in order to achieve such a thing i need a community willing to play the "Free" game with me.
This forum still seems to have an amount of activity, so i was hoping to see what people thought about a MMO version of Ur - Quan masters. Un changed apart from the dynamic world. Basically asking, if i make it, will you play it?
Also, as not a true follower of star fight, i never really got "into" the story, is the story an intricate part of the game for all you "true" followers?
And last, Big thanks for those that made this great game available for me to discover.

The story is what I thought made this game as awesome as it is. Especially the depth of each race history and relations. The fights were really second in my experience.
I personally dislike MMO and that would probably prevent me from trying it. Somewhere around this forum, or in it's brother here - http://www.star-control.com/community/ was a long discussion about SC MMO.

Well i think i mis represented a little bit, I would have the "story" or a story, but the outcome would be based on the evolution of the environment which would evolve based on player actions. like in the game itself, but without the concrete storyline in a singular direction. I would in vision a Endgame resulting in a server "reset", in a way simply attempting to increase the story by allowing a dynamic instead of liner path. But thanks for your feedback, and i will search for that topic, thanks.

Hi spikefin,
Alvarin is right, there was a quite elaborate discussion there, and it's really worth reading it. But, even if its conclusion is a bit negative, in any case, don't let that thread deter you from your ideas. If you do put together a MMO Ur-Quan game, I bet most people on these forums will at least give it a try ! At the very least, I'd be interested in seeing how your own dynamic game plays and feels.
You'll find that this community can be quite skeptic when new projects are proposed, but that's because we have high standards for all things UQM related and have seen many good ideas fail by lack of manpower. On the other hand, once you get something started (which seems to be your case already), the feedback is great and can largely help you improve your project and push you to complete it.
(edited for linking to the aformentioned thread)
