When i try to install this new version, the Precursors remixes won't download and whole install crashes. Am i doing something wrong?

P.S. Everything is working okay if i don't select the remixes during installation, but without Precursors music it's just not the same... Cry

How does it crash? Do you get a message?

If i try to install the game through downloading the remixes, it just stops at the middle and waits... Until i click somewhere. Then it crashes due to fatal error. I tried installing 0.7.0 on my notebook (wich has no internet connection whatsoever) with all the content and remixes downloaded beforehand in a specific folder. When it asks me where to take bonus content from, i point at that folder. The voices, original 3DO music - everything runs okay, but the remixes seem "invisible" for the installer. It says "Could not install the package uqm-remix-disc1.uqm due to the following error: "resolving hostname". This is an optional package, you can still play the game without it, yada-yada-yada... Do you want to retry from a different mirror?" and if a say "yes" the message repeats. I suppose i should somehow make the installer see my content folder as a "mirror" but how? Have i missed something?

Well you could just pop the remixes into the "addon" folder, which by default is C:\Program Files\The Ur-Quan Masters\content\addon\.
Since you do have them downloaded already.

I putted them in pre-created addons folder, i tried to create a new addons folder in packages folder (like in the older 0.6.2 version), but either way the game does not seem to recognize them. Even if i turn on the uqm remixes and disable the 3do music in the options menu, it plays the 3do soundtrack when i start new game or load one of my saves. Oh well, UQM is awesome nonetheless. I guess i'll just have to enjoy Precursors through my mp3-player while i play it  Undecided

There may be something wrong with your remix package downloads, which is why the Windows installer and UQM both reject them. The installer runs an MD5 checksum on the local packages before copying them to the installation dir. And if that does not match, the packages will be rejected, and it will attempt to download them.

Perhaps the installer could inform the user that the files may be corrupt instead of trying to download them right away?

I haven't been back here for a while. It's great to see a new release of UQM, was starting to wonder if the project had gone dormant. Looking forward to trying out 0.7. Thanks for all your hard work, UQM Team!

I should probably make a bug report, but in the meantime, I should at least mention this: there seems to be some circumstance where, simultaneously, for one of the players, exhaust isn't shown when the player thrusts and the opponent's Chmmr tractor beam has no effect on the player. I actually experienced this with Shiver's Balance Mod, so it could just be a Balance Mod bug (I'll do some testing later), but I just thought I should mention it now so anyone interested can look out for it.

And somethin's wrong with Melee. Can't remove ship from the fleet with ctrl>shift anymore. I guess this is related with fixing a bug which would have started a new game if you pressed shift in "Load game" screen.

This isn't a bug, it's a change. You now need to use the Delete key to delete ships. Not a change I'm fond of either, but still not a bug.

  • some missing bits of content added, including two new lander reports directly from Toys for Bob
Someone care to share the content?

"Added the missing bits to the no-voice versions of Mycon, Syreen and Utwig dialogue"
How to disable the no-voice version? Not enough to just drop the speech to zero volume?

Thanks for the hard work. Enjoying the game for the nth time.

You mean, disable the voices? I'm pretty sure voices are disabled if the voice volume is set to 0.
