I never see the Kohr-Ah reached Earth before when I playing. Would the game still continue after the Kohr-Ah reached Earth?

The moment the Kohr-Ah sphere centers on Earth, game over.

I did find a funny Hitler video about the Kohr-Ah death march.  Vaguely relevant to the topic, but it was still pretty dang funny to SC veterans. Smiley

The moment the Kohr-Ah sphere centers on Earth, game over.

As I recall, that's not true. When the sphere reaches Earth, the Kohr-Ah sphere of influence begins to expand continuously. Once the sphere reaches you, or I think running into a Kohr-Ah (i.e. at the Sa-Matra) does it as well, you are given a Kohr-Ah comm screen where the Kohr-Ah tells you that Earth has been exterminated (it's made out to be some sort of broadcast from the Kohr-Ah). The game ends there.

I've never tried to figure out if it's possible to win the game after the Kohr-Ah exterminate Earth, but before the sphere reaches you (i.e. if you can battle the Sa-Matra during that time). I suspect, though, that reaching the Sa-Matra in that condition simply triggers the Kohr-Ah victory message. I suppose something more worth investigating is if the Yehat still come to your rescue even if they have been exterminated in the Death March.

I think that's an instantaneous event in game time, but the animation while you're on the starmap screen takes real time.

The speed of expansion isn't mentioned in Star Control Fun Fact #5 - Time

Very doubtful that you can outrun it.

If you use the QuasiSpace portals, it wouldn't be difficult to get to the location of the Sa-Matra no matter how fast the sphere expands. Also, I'm confused:

The expansion doesn't occur at the star map. It works just like any other movement or sphere size change. Only difference is it expands rather than contracting, and it's a bit faster (not much, mind you, in comparison to the Ilwrath shrinking).

Maybe I'll do a test run at some point. It's interesting enough. Unless, of course, all questions are answered by someone familiar with the source code.
