Ditties for Android
« on: December 28, 2011, 11:41:43 pm »

I compiled all the victory ditties and enhanced them for use as notifications, ringtones, alarms, or what-have-ya for the Android based phones/tablets.
I was going to keep this for myself back when I only wanted the Zoq-Fot-Pik as a notification until I went full OCD and did the whole lot of them.

For Android based devices just extract the "Star Control II" folder onto your device's storage under "./media/audio/notifications/"

They could work on other smart phones but I have no way of finding that out.

My favorite at the moment is the Slylandro Probe. Grin

Everyone will be downloading the Kzer-za ditty, oh the nostaglia when that theme plays just to show how badass imperial they are. That simple clump of beats was one of the things I remembered most about Star Control as well.

If you use Winamp and convert them to Mp3s or use Audacity, you can put them on any phone you need. My Nokia phone has the Human Ditty as the message tone and the Hyperspace original as the ringtone.

What model is that? I've been using these ringtones for quite a while on my HTC Desire with standard firmware; all you need to do is copy the files to the specified directory on the memory card.

It's a desire Z, and I can change my ringtones. But not my message sounds, those are stored in the internal memory. As far as I can tell anyway.

That's odd. Judging by e.g. this, the procedure described by Serosis should work fine.

All I have that is Android is a 2.0 ereader...

But I'd love to have the Hyperspace music as the ringtone.  Chmmr, that must be the most epic ringtone in the world!

Now to figure out how to get it onto my cheap LG flip-phone....
