Alpha .2
« on: February 16, 2003, 05:07:03 am »

I just beat the game for the first time a couple of days ago, and all I got was the credits.  This was before I read that you could destroy the fireballs and stuff so it took me a couple of tries.  I was wondering if the ending is gonna be in the new version.

Intro/ending won't be in 0.2 (well, PC version slide files are in content directory but no code yet to play it, as it depends much on not-yet-implemented new resource system etc).

There's the 3DO opening (there's an opening to the game too Wink and the end sequences on The Pages of Now and Forever

Search for it in http://www.classicgaming.com/starcontrol/3do -- you might also find some nice 3DO "remixes" for the PC MOD music (except for Quasi-Space.. bah)

I tried the Pages of Now & Forever.  When I tried to download the end for the PC version, I couldn't get it to run, but the 3DO opening and ending both worked.

I wouldn't doubt that it doesn't work.  I did that a LONG time ago.  When I get around to it, I'll zip up the slides in the content directory and upload it to PNF for all of those that can't wait or get into CVS

I'm kinda curious... It seems that most bugs reported in 0.1 are gonna be fixed for 0.2. I understand that after that there will probably be a whole huge stability issue, and new bugs popping up with fixes and whatnot, but if this much work is put ionto each new versions, shouldn't we be talking just a few jumps before it's ready then (0.2, 0.5, 0.8 1.0 kinda thing)? Ot am I just ignorant. Do you have any timeline for the 1.0 version, or is that impossible to say? Oh, and if this has been asked earlier, just post a link and I'll find out Smiley

Feels good to have an old thread brought back.  Even if it is for a different reason than I originally intended.
