Were these songs ever intended to be used as a remix pack? Can they be used as a remix pack?

Some of those are bonus releases (feel free to replace the official releases with these for your personal game if you wish) while others are intended for the upcoming remix pack.

I had a listen at some of these. I loved Mortal Melee, but it's too... what's the musical term? Is there one? Well, it would be not so great if it was always used in every battle (too noisy, I guess). It might be awesome if it was only used with particularly major battles, though (Sa-Matra, Mycon sun device, and Druuge bomb squad come to mind). Curiosity question: why kind of musical variation does UQM support (currently)?

It's been a while, but I seem to recall going through these to make my own remix pack #4 a while back.  The only song that's missing is the Syreen, and I found a substitute for that one (by The Mister Cat, IIRC.)

Which is not to say that I would have any objection to a legit Precursors Syreen remix, btw. =D

"Hyperspace - Lightyears Away" is the one, that should have been in remix pack for hyperspace music.

It's awesome.  Cool

As a long time Star Control II fan I'm looking forward to listening to the Alliance remix pack Smiley
