Umm... I'm not 100% on what you mean.
Yes, there's a topic about Project 6014, which is a mod of Star Control II made by Cedric6014, dczanik, and a ton of other people I forgot or don't know.  It's pretty cool, but the dev topic is pretty cluttered so you should check out the download post here:
http://forum.uqm.stack.nl/index.php?topic=5178.0

Unfortunately, since it's just a mod, and isn't an actual commercial game,  so it won't be put on the Wii or Play Station.  I guess you COULD ask those dudes if they might, theoretically, do something like that in the future.  I have no idea, and kind of doubt it.  I'm sure they already have their hands full.  Download the beta, which is still being worked on, and try it out is my best suggestion.

There isn't going to be any commercial games coming out soon about Star Control, especially one by Toys for Bob.  Atari, which is the company that now holds the title to the game, tried to sell a Star Controll III(3), but it was an utter failure in the eyes of many fans in comparison to Star Control II, probably because it was made by totally different dudes and lacked the spirit, style, and buglessness of Star Control.

You can download the Ur-Quan Masters, which is the open source version of Star Control II.  I think it was made possible because Fred Ford and Paul Reich III were kind enough to release the source code to the public.

I'm going off my memory so I'm open to correction.

Here's where to download The Ur-Quan Masters for PC, Mac, and Linux (and probably other weird platforms).

Man, all this typing about Star Control makes me want to play it now...

I'm the kind of person that uses Linux and seems to be a very literate adult but has no idea how to do anything code-wise beyond basic stuff.(such as su -<password> yum install uqm) Except I didn't install UQM that way...I used Add/Remove Software...

For a list of more exotic ports of UQM (including a Wii port) see here: http://wiki.uqm.stack.nl/The_Ur-Quan_Masters#Third_party_ports

Be advised that this is mostly 'homebrew' stuff, if you don't know what that means you're probably better off not messing with it.

(Star Control III) was made by totally different dudes and lacked the spirit, style, and buglessness of Star Control.

To be fair, SC2 had its share of bugs, including one that let you sell back non-existent landers to get infinite RU.  But it was unquestionably a far better game.
