This may fall under your "well duh" category, but if in super-melee you use the arrow keys to highlight the name of your fleet, then press return, you can enter a new fleet name. It only took me 2 months of daily play to figure this out.

The only fleets I've saved are a Alliance and Hierarchy fleets.

How do you delete fleets? I accidentally saved an experimental fleet with a stupid name ("balanced fleet #2")
