Commander Hayes Missions

New here.  Just downloaded UQM and loving it!

The only question right now is that about two days before, I obtained the original SCII.  In that, Hayes was giving me missions.  One of the first was he mentioned signals from Pluto or whatnot and then if I completed a mission, I'd come back and he'd tell me about some transmission or whatnot coming from somewhere, etc.  In UQM, he does not seem to be doing this.  Was this removed, a glitch, or is there something else I am missing?

BTW, am I able to download 6014 without it interfering with the 7.0 UQM I just downloaded or do I need to uninstall it?

Ya know... I actually have a somewhat related question/comment.  When I played it back on the 3DO, I seem to remember Commander Hayes making a lot more comments than he did in UQM.  In particular, he made no comments about being able to make Syreen ships, and... I think a few more.  He may or may not have mentioned Utwig.  Anyway, yeah, it seems he was missing a few comments.

Hayes gives you a few pointers (not exactly missions), but they're based on time, not whether you've completed the "previous" one (so, if you don't investigate it for long enough, Hayes will point it out). They are:

I think I put those in order, but I'm not sure.

Do you happen to know what's with my Commander Hayes not mentioning the Syreen arriving?  Or is my memory playing tricks on me and he didn't do that in the 3DO version either?

I'm pretty sure UQM has everything that's in the 3DO version other than the videos, but I never played the 3DO version (or even owned a 3DO), so don't take my word for it.

There is a message for the Syreen shuttle, but not for the Penetrator ships after recovering them from the vault.
It would have been like this on the 3DO.

I think they meant a reference to the fact that you can now buy Syreen ships... which presumably was also not in the 3DO version.
