I can't say I had ever noticed that before.

That Spathi eye must be either painted or CGed on; I honestly don't even recognize if anything on the stalk or eye are actual bricks.

And as mentioned, sadly the communities both here and at the SCDB (since I see you crossposted there) are rather small and do not get a whole lot of regular activity. So you probably shouldn't expect to get earth-shattering numbers of people from either one, no matter how big their memberlists might seem.

Well Crash and I are basing our models more on the in game art. I looking for more inspiration on some of the ships I looked at the manual's art of the Avenger and that certainly is NOT empty. But the manual art has always diverged from the game are.

The Spathi eye is the same part used on the Thradash Dart. It is a shere with a stud hole in the back. There is a third option you did not mention (though yes it is SG) and that is custom printed decals. Printed waterslides is the common trend among hard core Lego minifig designers. Part of the reason in getting Lego to produce this set though would be to prevent everyone else from having to resort to such techniques. Also, the colors shown here are not available for all the parts used. Vinyl dyes can be used but that is again a limiting factor for casual enthusiasts.

I use CG to do mock ups of how figure will look with the skins I have made prior to moving forward with waterslides.

It is not the limited number of people on the forums that I was commenting on but the low follow through of views on this posting to support in Cuusoo that saddens me. I wish people would at least leave feedback here on why they are not supporting then just reading it and then not responding in any way.

I like what you did. They're all very good.
My only criticism is that the Avenger looks a bit fragile. Or is there a pin in the 'neck'?
Are you going to make the flagship too? With exchangeable modules? That would be cool.

As for why I am not 'supporting' on Cuusoo: they want me to create a Facebook, Twitter, or Cuusoo account. That's not going to happen.

Any single stud connection is Lego is of course more delicate than a multi-stud one, but stronger than you would think. This build uses a relatively new part which is a 1 x 1 round plate with the added "feature" of having a hole throug it. So each plate is holding on not only through surrounding the Lego stud but also having a short pin go into the stud. So this is a bit more firm than a traditional one stud build

When I am done with all the ships and figure I figured I would find the flagship an irresistible draw. Not sure I would make it part of the Cuusoo project but I would certainly post it.

As for not creating an account. Thank you for giving me that input. I don't know your explicit reasoning for not wanting to create a Cuusoo account but I can respect that. I am not trying to change your mind but simply being informative, I have never received a contact from Cuusoo outside of the initial account creation confirmation or emails associated with the creation of new projects that I submit. Cuusoo is very big about not contacting its uses. Again thanks for the info. It is always very informative to learn about why people are NOT supporting a project.

In that case, you might want to check out Robert Seater's lego ships. They're smaller, more suitable for bundling in a multi-ship set.

What am I thinking? Most of these were really small. Only the Dreadnaught is largish.

I second this. If LEGO makes them into a series, they could add different portions of the flagship into each set (to entice everyone to buy every mini-set).

These look nice, though I feel like some of them are kinda small, especially Thraddash and Ilwrath. The Ilwrath in particular feels too thin.

This is roughly my reasoning, with the caveat that Twitter is something that I may change my mind on at some point. That said, this is not sufficient to make me change my mind on getting a Twitter account.

Yeah I saw this when I was randomly googling one time, but I saw it like 5-6 years ago before this, so there might be copywright problems.
