Spathi? What spathi? You're imagining, hunam.

Is QS definitely below normal space? I seem to remember the orz saying that the arilou were from *Above*, and they seem to live there.
Anyway, yeah, it's another dimension. Apparently a semi-safe one, as dimensions go. Safe compared to Realspace or Hyperspace, or whatever space those androsynth happened upon.

so is Quasi-Space *above* or *below* TrueSpace? You can't really say that. If you draw a line on a piece of paper, and call that "TrueSpace", and you draw another line ("Quasi-Space"), then that second line is either parallel or intersects (if your paper is big enough). If they intersect, then neither of them is above the other. If not, you can just turn the paper up side down and the other one is above. So there's really no *above* or *below*. (A third line (for Hyperspace for instance) does not even have to be *on* the paper). In "reality" (not on paper) it would be pretty much like this, only with more dimensions (no lines, but 'spaces'). What you may be able to conclude (or at least make a case for) from the Orz' statement "Orz are from *below*, Arilou are from *above*." would be that both Quasi-Space and Orz-Space are a hyperplane parallel to TrueSpace (though the actual space may be curved), and that they are on opposite sides of TrueSpace.

Oy, Quasispace and Orz and truespace aren't just lines that are above or below each other... above and below are simply the ship's computer's BEST GUESS at translating Orz... it's not accurate, in fact it might even be incredibly inaccurate, but it's the closest words English has.
