It kinda does doesn't it? It's not, I don't want to tell you why I'm asking but you might have a good guess.

Well, I don't use Windows because it's nonfree. All I use are completely free GNU/Linux distributions, with Trisquel being my current choice (though I really want to take a look at Parabola some day).
I'm not sure how to answer the poll, though, because some of the computers I use (including the one I'm using now) do have Windows on them, mostly because I'm about the only one who wants Windows to be deleted, something I did to my own lapop. If I knew that everyone here would be fine with Windows being gone from the computers, I would be quick to get rid of that malware.

My desktop and laptop both have Windows 7 on it.
I used to be a Mac OS X user until I entered college, where I got a Windows laptop for my courses. Apple made the transition to Intel CPUs and my PowerPC quickly became obsolete. Since then, I've been using Windows 99.9% of the time.
I do use Linux with VMware Player for testing stuff and deploying servers for personal projects.

Just wondering how many people simply have one or more Windows PCs in their house. I think it's probably of general interest to developers here.

Why? Having a computer that happens to have Windows in your house doesn't mean much of anything. You already heard my case: I would very much like for none of the computers in the world to be infected by malware such as Windows and Mac OS X, yet the computer I use most still has an unused Windows partition. You don't even need an extreme case like mine: if someone highly prefers GNU/Linux, and has it exclusively on most of their machines, but has one computer with Windows on it, they would have to answer "yes" in this poll. The same goes for someone who highly prefers Mac OS X, but has an old Windows XP computer that they still sometimes use. Or maybe there's an OS war going on in your house, with your brother being a die-hard Windows fan while the rest of the family prefers GNU/Linux, and there's one old Windows computer your brother tends to use.
And then you've got the usual case: installing GNU/Linux alongside Windows, but keeping Windows there so you can play Windows-only games.
The fact is lots of computers are shipped with Windows, and lots of people who buy these machines keep it on, even if it's in a separate partition that they rarely use. The only OS data that would ever be of interest to UQM is what OS people regularly use.
The only use of this poll that I can think of is as an excuse to only package a Windows version of some mod you have, and leave all users of other systems on their own. I'm sure nobody will do this (since it would be plain ridiculous to not make it super-easy to compile the source on GNU/Linux, considering it's already done), and that's a good thing, but that leaves the question of how else this information could possibly be useful to anyone.

Quite. For instance, there are two windows boxes n this house. One doesn't belong to me and I generally won't be able to use it. The other is severely damaged and very invonvenient to use. But by the question, they exist.

Daddyo isn't a spam bot. Or if he is, then I've been playing music via ninjam with a very intelligent AI.
I have Windows on my main desktop for gaming and music composing purposes. I mainly use Linux for development tasks.

All of my computers are dual-partitioned Windows/Linux, except my netbook which has Linux only.
