"Star Control 4" was to be made for the PS1 console, but I guess the project was canceled? It was to be called Star Con I think.  I'd like to see the real Star Control 3 come out first before they even think about 4.

O yea, and that's Space Empires 4. Much like Star Control, but not the same game at all. I would not recommend buying it though, unless you want to spend a couple hours just figuring out how to make ships and move.

Accolade had planned to make a 3D fighting-based game entitled Star Con.  The project was scraped because the game was gonna suck... royally.  They didn't want to put money into a project that wouldn't sell.  Paul Reiche III and Fred Ford are the original creators or Star Control, who were not involved in the making of Star Control 3 as most people know.  They are now involved with other projects.  Accolade isn't even a company anymore, they were merged into Infogrames.  So, there is no Star Control 4 being made, or even conceived...  that's both a good and bad thing.   Tongue

I would not mind an SC4 even if it wasn't done by TFB... DON'T KILL ME! ...I mean, there are other companies out there that could put out a good game with the same feel. Obviously, I'd prefer TFB to do it... but I don't believe it is impossible for another company to make a good game.
