Well, we've got 100 open bugs that need fixing as of yet, and those are only the ones we know about; there's probably lots of bugs as yet undiscovered.

If you can be of any assistance in closing them, then shut your cakehole and get to work writing some code.  If you cannot be of assistance in closing them, then shut your cakehole and wait until we're done.

That has absolutely nothing to do with this topic. And yes, there are a few instances of alien captains with names resembling other species.

Yup. And there's a Spathi captain named Pkunky. Ol' Fred and Paul probably just were too lazy to come up with new names... weren't some of the other SC2 races in SC1's professor guy copy protection thing, too?

Oh yeah, and don't complain about .3 not being here. That is just *frumple*.

I do not recognize all of these as jokes, but I suspect that they are.

BIM-XT = an anagram for a massively powerful 4.77 MHz supercomputer built in the early 1980s  Wink

CRC-16 = this is the name of a type of checksum (a means of verifying data integrity) known as a Cyclic Redundancy Check.  The "16" means it uses 16 bits to store the sum, as opposed to 8 or 32 or whatever (more bits = lower margin of error).  Some source code for generating 16-bit CRCs can be found here.

ME-262 = The Messerschmitt ME-262 was the first jet fighter to be used in actual combat; it was used by the Luftwaffe near the end of the second world war.  Since it was introduced so late in the war and in such small numbers, it had a neglible impact on the course of events, but it was an absolutely amazing technical achievement for its time.

The damnable names at first made me think they were a race of hostile alien cyborgs, not human clones.

Which made them a whole lot more terrifying, though that might have something to do with the Terminator movies.

And a lot more grateful to the Orz for eating them all up, I might add.
