We created a game similar to Ur-Quan Masters and wanted to see what your thoughts are? We are attempting to modernize with a new style. Anyways let me know what you think of Yargis wwww.Yargis.com

Sharing is good.

Looks like it's proprietary, so I'm not interested. Consider doing something like what has been done with Gish, or perhaps trying a crowd-funding campaign to make the game's engine free/libre/open-source software.
If you did make the engine free software, and the game is really like UQM, I would be interested in playing it. Even then, though, I would need more information before I would be willing to fork over $20.

Thanks for the great ideas. We do have a Kickstarter, and the price starts at $7.00 http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jeffminnis/yargis-indie-space-game-of-the-year?ref=live
And Ur-Squan Masters (Star Control 1/2) actually started as closed source, so we do have some similarity there. I played the original game, and it was one of my favorite games, and definitely an inspiration for Yargis. Anyways, we are looking for any support from the community, and were hoping that people would be excited that we have invested so much time and money to make this happen.
Thanks again for all the great ideas.

Star Control is a good source of inspiration for sci-fi games, but you should work on tuning your art up. The first thing I noticed was that the first picture you posted looks kind of blurry. And then second, something that's important is consistent style and graphics. In your banner for instance, the shading and realistic look to the plantes is not cohesive with the ambient and glowy style of the lines and 3-D look of the ship. You should have planets more like the ones that are those detailed planets in p6014 backgrounds.

I recommend polishing that UI and environment art. If you do an android port, don't forget to include generic USB / bluetooth gamepad controls and calibration options so miniPC users like me can also play Yargis on the big screen.
