Thought I'd drop some shots of the low-poly SC shipsets I made for Space Empires 5

Hm, they look pretty nice for the most part! Though the Arilou seems kinda ugly with all that detail and the Shofixti looks a little odd somehow.

Thanks! The Arilou and Shofixti ships look odd because I made the SC2 originals into fighters, and fighter models don't show up on the space battle screen, only capships. But I made a picture to compare the models I made of those two ships with the original material:

There are still people that play SEV?
SE3 For Life!
Seriously though, I do like the ship sets, though the coloration on the Arilou seems... Off?
Back in the day of SE4, I had John Beech make me a few shipsets based on my RP empires of the time.
The Star Empire of Romii was based on the Greys, at least my take at the time (though it always needed some tweaking and the take was, frankly, several years old as I'd moved on in RP storylines). http://mkv25.net/USy/se4_viewrace.php?view_id=15
The second, for the Angelican Regency, I always liked. Excluding the fighters. They seemed off to me... http://mkv25.net/USy/se4_viewrace.php?view_id=14
Was always sad he never really moved on to SEV, even if I never really liked that incarnation of the SE series.

Heh, the SE3 demo was one of the first PC games I ever played ... the good old days
I had a long relationship with SEIV but now I'm stuck with SEV because that's where my quasi-art is "needed". I don't play with it frequently but I always return to it from time to time. Since the series is dead now, some of us started a project called FrEee to create a technologically fresh version of SEIV, with some elements borrowed from SE3 and V.
Based on the fact that we didn't really see anything from the Arilou other than the Skiff, I took some liberty in designing the capships. If you Google the Arilou Skiff you get pictures of two different colorations. I chose to model the original one-colored Skiff as a "Fighter" -- visible only on the ground combat screen -- while making capships follow the more complex blue/light blue alternative. I decided to add some markings to the textures to increase the overall complexity of them, and to act as a factor for differentiation between smaller and larger ships.
Beech's stuff was always strong quality, his Tylmai is a huge bucket of win on SEIV. I often changed the portraits and race names associated with the shipsets, so in my library the Angelicans became the Aos.

He was making the Tylmai for SEV, but never got beyond the concept stage, I believe. Which is a shame.

It's a shame indeed. Would that one came out, it could have been the first custom shipset released instead of my N'Grath.

I'm new here, I'm currently playing Star Wars Empire at War and its expansion pack Forces of Corruption. I wonder anyone who experienced with modding Star Wars Empire at War can make a mod titled "Star Control: Ur-Quan at War", Star Wars Empire at War mod based on Star Control.
