To edit: keys.cfg or starcon.key?
« on: February 25, 2003, 08:39:23 pm »

Hello everyone,

In order to fuel my nostalgia (and to allow myself to kick some major butt in melee and RU collecting), I was trying to edit the key.cfg file to return the controls to the original from SC2.  I have read the posts and there is confusion if the file to edit is key.cfg or starcon.key.  I have tried editing key.cfg with no apparent change in the controls (still arrow keys), so I am thinking it may be starcon.key is the right file.  Also, if anyone else here has edited keys, I will include my changes to see if anyone notices a problem with my new file.

I want to the controls to be: m=turn left, comma=turn right, period=forward/thrust, questionmark=main weapon, and n=secondary weapon, and spacebar=return to ship.

Still remember being taunted by the box for SC2 before christmas and seeing that really cool grey ship with a ring of fire surrounding it!  Little did I know that I would soon be playing my

This is a bug: starcon.key overrides keys.cfg, it should be the other way around.  I believe this has been squished in current CVS already (they do work fast, don't they?)

In the meantime, to work around, either edit starcon.key or rename it to something else to allow keys.cfg to be used.
