Run the uqm.exe or uqmdebug.exe: "C:\Program Files\Ur-Quan Masters High Definition Beta 1\uqm.exe This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." Yeah well it doesn't.
Run any of the three resolution .bat-s in the prompt: uqm.exe -x -r 1280x960 -w --resfactor=2
The system cannot execute the specified program.

OK I figured it. Lost a lot of nerves on that sob. If you run into the nasty errors above, it needs these Microsoft's:
.NET Framework 3.5 SP 1 (which also seems to install 2.0 and 3.0, both Service Pack 2)
Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable x86 (on 32 bit PC) v. 9.0.30729.4148
Earlier versions of the above won't do, no. Maybe just one of them two is needed, I don't know. And I'm not going to find out.
