problem with CVS?
« on: December 03, 2002, 12:24:35 am »

howdy.

I just downloaded the latest CVS, and I was wondering... is there a reason it generates no binaries?

I did "build.sh uqm", and then changed the install directory to a directory in my home directory, that didn't exist.

it failed to create the directory,  and install files.

I then created the directory myself, as well as the bin and lib directories inside it.

I tried reinstalling to no avail. Any help? (also, does the fact that it gives you install directories that are initially global mean that you now have all the save files and whatnot sometwhere in the home directory?)

Installing the game system-wide required some other locations than the content dir to store the saved games and temporary files. I added this for Linux and FreeBSD, but as the Windows release was already almost ready,
I didn't check if this would work on Windows, so this is not yet in CVS. I plan to do this soon. In the mean-time, when using the CVS version, those files will still be created in the content dir, so it should work if you have write access there.
