Vux ships still don't warp in close
« on: February 28, 2003, 07:57:18 pm »

The CVS changelog says that Vux ships should warp in close now, but only the super-melee seems to be fixed -- in the single-player mode I can wander with impunity through Vux space with almost any ship.

Any idea when this will be fixed?

There is no plan to 'fix' this, since it was the behaviour in the original game (at least in the 3DO version).  If someone can show  that the PC version behaves differently, we can think about changing the behaviour (or at least adding an option that would allow you to play it that way)

Our best guess for the reason for this is that it may make the game too hard.

As per my comments on your original bug report, there is no "VUX advantage" in the single-player mode.  Not on the 3DO, nor on the PC version.  In the single-player game, the VUX ships appear on-screen just like any other ship.

Put simply, it's supposed to be that way, so there's nothing to fix.
